dvd and home cinema
Any movie fan will tell you that a decent home cinema system make the enjoyment of films and tv so much greater. I first got into the 'hobby' about 15 years ago, when I first connected my VCR up to a Kenwood Stereo system to try and improve the sound I was getting from my 14" television! Since then I have evolved the system into what is now I think a pretty darn good home cinema system.
The challenge for me has always been to have a system that not only looks and sounds good, but also fits in with the environment it is in - I never wanted the system to dominate the room. Therefore most of the equipment is hidden away - a pull down projector screen, the dvd, amplifier and subwoofer are hidden away, and even the projector itself is hidden in a cupboard.
Without these self-imposed constraints it would have been easy, but without this compromise my wife probably wouldn't have let me have the system!!
